Hello there! Welcome, friends, to my Minecraft channel and to the magical world of Minecraft. I am the GenX Wizard and I’m here to show you a video game world where your imagination has no bounds. A game where you dictate how you want to play it; from going on thrilling adventures in the vast Minecraft world to building whatever you can imagine.

My history with gaming goes back to my childhood in the 70’s and 80’s during the 8-bit video game era. I began my gaming experience with my first Atari, to my Nintendo and Sega Genesis, later to PlayStation, XBOX 360, PC, etc. I still have a soft spot for the 8-bit games like Galaga, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda.

I’ve always imagined what those games would look like in the 3-D world but with that same 8-bit feel, which Minecraft reminds me of every time I play the game. In 2010 a work colleague introduced me to this new game which I had never seen before - Minecraft. It was the Beta 1.2 version, if I remember correctly. Once my first world loaded up, I punched my first tree to get a block of wood and received the “Got Wood?” achievement. Well, the rest is history. The number of hours I have spent on this wonderful game far exceeds anything I have ever played in my life.

Anyone and everyone can play Minecraft. From kids to adults, all are welcome to be a part of the amazing Minecraft community. I've seen players of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the game. With 350 million copies of Minecraft sold, it's just amazing the longevity of the game. With as much time as I have spent playing Minecraft, I still wouldn’t call myself an expert. I learn something new about this game every time I play it.

I played survival for my first several years of gameplay until I beat the Ender Dragon. Since then, I decided to retire completely from survival and focus solely on creative mode. I’m not the best Minecraft player or builder out there, by any means. I just enjoy creating my own masterpieces with digital blocks. I’m putting my experience, my knowledge, and my love for Minecraft into my Minecraft channel.

With this channel, I plan on streaming my gameplay, including my first hardcore survival playthrough since… well, I don’t remember when. Also, I’ll be streaming from my server, a world I’ve been working on since 2015 and am excited to finally unveil to the Minecraft community: Super Derp World. I’m really looking forward to talking with and getting to know those of you in the Minecraft community, and I’m hoping to get the opportunity to play with some of you too.
